ProActiv eCard Ltd. ('ProActiveCard') is a start-up technology company based in the historic and vibrant city of York, England. The company specialised in the R&D and marketing of advanced Active Smart Card technologies and novel assistive health technologies.

Active smart card, unlike conventional 'passive' smart card has its own power source and could perform many additional and powerful tasks previously only associated with more bulky device. Although, there is a convergence of many IT applications toward hand-held mobile devices, the smart card industry continues to grow, due to many inherent advantages associated with the convenient form factor of a smart card, user friendliness, relative low cost and ease of deployment to a mass audience

ProActiveCard has recieved support funding from the Science City York Innovation Fund, and the Department of Trade and Industry of the UK goverment.
